Volunteering

There are all kinds of volunteer activities - sports and recreation, environment, health, arts and culture, education, and social services. We'll help you find what's right for you! Here are tips to finding the right volunteer position for you.

How do I Get Started Volunteering?

The Volunteer Centre has a registration form which is filled out to tell us about you, your interests, and your skills.

Contact us if you have questions, by phone (506) 658-1555 or email to vol.coordinator@nb.aibn.com. If you check Database on the application form, the Volunteer Centre will call you when future opportunities come up which match your interests.

To make a good match between you and the volunteer opportunites available, each volunteer is interviewed by the Referral Coordinator at the Volunteer Centre. In the interview, more information is gathered to help the Volunteer Centre. The interview process is really relaxed, by phone or preferably in person.

Choosing Your Volunteer Opportunities

You will learn about the many agencies and volunteer opportunities from which to choose. There are usually over a hundred to choose from.

There are many events that need volunteers too. This Calendar of Events shows the many events sponsored by our member agencies.

Then What?

Within two weeks, you will be contacted by the agency to which you were referred. They will want an interview with you and will tell you more about their agency and the volunteer position. Note: You may need to provide the agency with references and a Police Check.

What If I Change My Mind?

If for some reason you decide not to volunteer, let us know immediately. You can come back at another time and re-enter as a volunteer.
